The Classis of New Brunswick Reformed Church in America, will ordain the Rev. Gerald L. Vermilyea to the ministry in the Reformed Church of North Brunswick tomorrow
at 4 p.m. He is a member of the North Brunswick Church, and has served as student assistant to two pastors. He also served in the Latin American mission in Costa Rica and was pastor of the Peoples' Baptist Church of Bayonne for four years.
He is a graduate of Northeastern Collegiate Bible Institute and Nyack Missionary College,
and did graduate study theology at Gordon-Conwelis Theological Seminary and New
Brunswick Theological Seminary, where he received the master of divinity degree in
May. He is married to the former Barbara Ann Dicke of North Brunswick, and the Vermilyeas have two daughters, Joanne and Laura Jean.
Participants in the Service will include: Walter Dicke, elder of the North Brunswick
Church; the Rev. Dr. Virgil Rogers of New Brunswick Theological Seminary; the Rev. Elmer H. Finger, pastor emeritus of the North Brunswick Church; Robert Heyd of Colts Neck, president of the Classis of New Brunswick; the Rev. John Hart of the Marlboro Reformed
Church; and the Rev. Edwin F. Parsi!, pastor of the North Brunswick Church.
A reception for the Vermilyeas will be held in the church's Educational Building following the service, hosted by the Women's Guild.
