Hospital gets $10,000 budget hike


A budget for $310,000 was approved yesterday for the Middlesex County Hospital for the Chronically Ill in North Brunswick. The budget reflects a $10,000 increase over last year in an effort to make up a $12,000 dip in the hospital’s estimated income.

The 1974 budget, approved yesterday by the county welfare board, provides an increase of $4,779 in salaries and wages and $5,077 in the retirement fund.  A $1,500 decrease was listed for medical Supplier, cut in the number of patients is planned because of a renovating program to meet state safety codes.

The cost of repairs and improvements also decreased from $17,000 to $12,000, while conference expenses and educational development increased by $1,500 to $2,000.
